Support for configuring the Cisco 7911G with 3CX on the 3CX IP PBX phone system is still possible without replacing all of your existing IP phones. This saves budget for companies that do not want large costs when migrating from an old system to a new one.
It is strongly recommended not to buy this device as a replacement because of its limited functionality and because it only supports incoming and outgoing calls.
Here are the prerequisites for configuring the Cisco 7911G with 3CX:
- DHCP Server option 150 / 66
- TFTPD server
- Cisco 7911G Version 8
- 3CX Provisioning files.
Step 1. Download the firmware and place it in the tftpd directory.
Step 2. Set up and enable DHCP server option 150 / 66, including identifying the TFTPD server.
Step 3. Configure the phone in 3CX. In this configuration, use the Cisco 7941 template to configure the Cisco 7911. Enter the MAC Address and then download the provisioning file provided by the 3CX system.
Step 4. Reset the Cisco 7911 by powering it on while pressing the # key, followed by the code 12345678*0#. Wait until provisioning completes and your IP Phone is ready to use.
