The Easy Way to Set Available, Away, and DND Status in 3CX
1 min read
Ever forgotten to change your status in 3CX? For example, you’ve already gone on break but your status still shows Available, or the workday is over but you still appear online. Things like this can confuse your coworkers and lead them to contact you at the wrong time.
Luckily, 3CX has a Presence Profiles feature that can change your status automatically based on your work schedule. Just set it up once, and let 3CX do the rest for you.

What Are Presence Profiles? #
Presence Profiles is a 3CX feature that lets your presence status change automatically based on a schedule you’ve set up.
For example:
- At 8:00 AM the status changes to Available.
- At 12:00 PM the status changes to Away during your lunch break.
- At 5:00 PM the status changes to Do Not Disturb (DND) once the workday ends.
That way, you no longer need to change your status manually every day.
Getting to Know 3CX’s Presence Statuses #
Available #
This status shows that you’re active and ready to receive calls or chats. It’s typically used during work hours, or whenever you’re at your desk.
Away #
This status indicates you’re temporarily away from your desk.
For example, when you’re:
- On a lunch break.
- In a meeting.
- Stepping away from your desk for a moment.
Do Not Disturb (DND) #
This status is a good fit when you’re focused on work or already outside your working hours. With DND status, interruptions from calls or chats are minimized, so you can stay focused on your work.
Why Use Presence Profiles? #
Turning on Presence Profiles gives you several benefits, such as:
- No need to manually change your status every day.
- Coworkers know exactly when they can reach you.
- Fewer interruptions while you’re focused on work.
- Your status always matches the work schedule you’ve set.
How to Set Up Presence Profiles #
Setting up this feature is very easy.
- Open the 3CX app.
- Go to the Presence or Status menu.
- Set your work schedule as needed.
- Choose which status should be active at each time.
- Save your settings.
Once done, your status will change automatically according to the schedule you’ve created.
